Nexus Legal is led by Manpreet Lalli, a solicitor of England and Wales who was admitted to the roll in January 2016. Manpreet has practised in many different areas of law and before launching Nexus Legal, Manpreet was a director at a London law firm. His experience and reputation put him at the forefront of his field. 

Manpreet has extensive experience in his areas of practice, having worked with a broad range of clients on disputes including contracts and property. He has handled contentious matters before all levels of courts within England and Wales, including civil litigation from County Court level up to the High Court and the Court of Appeal. 

Earlier in his career and prior to becoming a solicitor, Manpreet was a qualified Level 3 Immigration Adviser with the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner (now the Immigration Advice Authority). With over 15 years of experience in immigration and nationality law, he has an extensive knowledge of the UK immigration system, which includes working on complex immigration applications (both domestic and international), applications for family visas, work visas and naturalisation, as well as applications for a sponsor licence. Manpreet has also handled many appeals before the First-tier Tribunal and Upper Tribunal with an excellent success rate. Many of Manpreet’s clients are repeat clients who have instructed Manpreet from their initial entry clearance/leave to remain applications all the way up to their settlement and naturalisation applications.  

Notable cases Manpreet has worked on include a multimillion pound property claim for breach of trust, obtaining a freezing injunction against an attorney to prevent dissipation of assets, and an appeal to the Court of Appeal where it was held that the Home Office has an implied power to defer decisions on applications for leave to remain in the UK pending a criminal investigation.
